About the Artist
Hello! I’m Lisa Mellana.
I am a bay area native. After I retired from teaching in 2015, I discovered paint, not just any paint, but fluid acrylics. It was love at first pour. My journey started with techniques I learned from other artists on YouTube.
The mixing and mingling of colors is what makes this technique so intriguing. Instead of using tools like brushes or knifes to create a piece of art, fluid paints are poured directly on the surface. Pouring paints allow the colors to blend naturally as they come in contact with each other. The final piece usually is something completely different than what I initially had in mind.
I love what I do and love the outcome of what can be created.
